Happy Dance!

She's done! Woohoo! So many beads wow, I think she had more beads on her than the other two I did but oh well I loved stitching her.

I pulled out my 2008 EMS Rose sampler to work on and I got some done.

Non-stitching news:

The movers came and took nearly everything but forgot some things including the bed frame we had downstairs. I am so upset over it plus they left all there trash here all over our house and downstairs leaving us to clean up after them. Mike signed the papers without going through and making sure they got everything. Plus they left the front door and back door open for the two days they took to pack our house and so I froze the entire time. Now Kiley, DH, and I have the flu. Plus we had to go to an xmas company party on Thursday which was mandatory and the kids weren't feeling well or anything. But its all over except this flu bug which we are fighting.

9 more days before we fly!

Happy Stitching!

Elf fairy

Here she is as of oh I would say two days ago. I haven't touched her yesterday or today as of yet. Please forgive the needle there, not sure why its there but ok whatever. The other day I finished the stitching and backstitching and got all the beads around her feet completed and then the next night the beads on her legs and bottom portion of her dress and wings done and then nothing since. I spent yesterday finishing up all the packing and today the mover is here yes I said mover not movers, apparently they are suppose to be doing two house at once so we have one guy here. Good thing they are scheduled for today and tomorrow. But he has my front door open and our back door open so its so so so sooooo cold in here! I have my oven on and open trying to get a little warm though I am tempted to go into my bedroom and crawl under the covers. DH has his laptop so i will continue to have computer and internet till about the 14th but I am not sure if I will be able to show any progress pictures after this one but I will update as soon as I can.

Round 16 and Elf Fairy

Alrighty so Susan P. received my round 16 about a week ago I guess and I just saw on the Fair and Square blog that she received it. I hope you like it. It was fun to stitch rudolph up.

Also here is my elf fairy as of today. I just have that little square to fill in and then its time for backstitching and beading! I can't wait for this happy dance, she has certainly taken me longer to complete than the other two fairies did but she's still fun to do.

My Edelweiss lodge and resort marriage retreat got canceled sadly but is rescheduled for the 11th of Dec. so I am hoping we can make it as our things will be shipped already, luggage packed, and the house ready for inspection so cross your fingers everyone that this one doesn't get canceled either.

We also took Christmas pictures this past Saturday. They were suppose to be in Dec 14th but was moved to Dec 18th which means we can pick them up in Veisbaden a 20 minute drive from the Frankfort airport on the 17th or they can mail them to my mom's address where we will be staying for the next 6 weeks and we receive them after Christmas sometime. This one is going to be played by ear though. We already viewed the pictures and picked what we wanted and paid.

How was everyone's Thanksgiving weekend? We spent ours relaxing and weeding through more things here inside the apartment and down in the storage in the basement. Fun stuff lol.

TUSAL and a Christmas Elf fairy

Okay I know I am very late showing my TUSAL but both kids were ill all the way thru Sunday and even Kiley wasn't feeling well so she stayed home today too but both kids are so much better and will finish off the remaining two days of school this week. Anyway what did I add to this container this month? Different colors from my FS exchange which I can't show yet but I also added more fibers from my Christmas elf as well. I am actually working on her wings as we speak or type? Anyway I am hating working on her wings and was highly tempted to leave them out. But alas she shall have them so she may continue to match my other fairies. And I normally don't mind beading but this one seems to have a ton of them oh well one bead at a time right? Besides the finish product will be beautiful!

DH signed the 4 of us up for a marriage retreat at Edelweiss Lodge. It's a free trip and we always wanted to go there so now is our last chance. We have to go to a few group meetings with our Chaplin but I am actually looking forward to what he has to say. They have free child care as well during these meetings and all kinds of things to do when we are not meeting with the Chaplin. We leave this Sunday and return Tuesday December 1st. 1st SGT is approving the leave of the soldiers to miss work Monday and Tuesday but the kids don't have those days off from school so I will have to let the school know they will be missing more school. And then on the 2nd and 3rd housing comes and collects all our things to ship to Colorado. woohoo! But this means I must have everything we are taking on the plane packed up this Saturday as I don't think I will have the energy when we return. How was everyone else's weekend?

Fall FS Round and Christmas Elf

Jeanie C. (no blog) received the Fair and Square Fall Round I sent her. I'm so glad you like it, It was fun to stitch up for you.

Also here is my progress on my Christmas Elf Fairy. I just have her hat, wings and beading to do to complete her plus a small amount of back stitching. But for now she will be set aside as I have my final round for the fair and square exchange for the year to do up and get mailed out so i can concentrate on getting things in my house packed up. I leave in just 4.5 weeks!

Christmas elf fairy Day 3

Here she is after 3 days of stitching now. I am surprised how much I was able to get done on her yesterday though it helps that I am enjoying this one a lot so it keeps me motivated. I don't know that I will get a lot done today as my kids are up for a big unhappy surprise for them when they come home today from school so I will be doing that today. I'll explain about it more later.

Happy Stitching!

Here is my TUSAL for this new moon, well OK I'm two days late in posting this and i won't make any excuses, its pure laziness lol. So i snapped one with my webcam this morning so i apologize for the bad picture. The only added things in here that I can tell you about is some excess fabric from Poe's curtains and some reds from my Christmas elf fairy that I am currently working on. All the other tidbits that I added this month are from exchanges that I am still waiting on to arrive at their destinations. Also if your interested in joining this just click the link in my sidebar under SAL's

Yesterday I was able to sit and stitch for a good 4 hours! OK I admit I watched TV shows too while I stitched this. But I am happy with my progress and plan to work on her some more today. Names were sent out to for the fair and square round 16 so soon i will have to set my fairy aside to complete MY last exchange for the year. Once I am moved into my new place I will start doing the fair and square exchange again.

Mirabilia Christmas Elf

Yep I decided its time to start something! I have had this kit in my stash for a few years now and I finally decided its time to pull her out and stitch her up, maybe with any luck she will be my first cross stitch piece I hang up in our new home.

Sue: No Batista wouldn't need any shots as they do the same ones here as they do in the states. Unfortunately we had some problems that I just couldn't fix with Batista. He would steal the girls toys and then growl and snap at the girls when they would try to get them back. He kept getting closer and closer to their hands and I found out he has an authority issue with the girls and so we tried everything we could think of and nothing worked. I knew if he bit one of the girls he would have to be put down so rather than risk scarring my kids or having an innocent puppy put down, I found him a childless home where he will be loved and well taken care of.

My Lady Of Snow

So here she is as of last night. I have finished across from her. I put a box on the section I just completed so you can kind of see the amount that is completed on her. I am working my way up before I go about finishing her dress below. So yes soon enough she will have a head and even the owl will be there though I am not sure how about putting the owl on cause her entire arm is beads and you all know I do those last so I may have to put some stitches in just so I can count correctly on her hand and owl placement and then remove the stitches afterward.

Destiny had her Optometry appointment today and the Dr dilated her eyes with three different drops so she is blind for the day. Well at least on the part of seeing up close. So I decided to keep her home today and she will return tomorrow. She even got those cool sunglasses, lol. He said her eyes are very healthy so yay! No glasses!

Anyone get any snow? We did! We got about 2 to 4 inches yesterday and another couple of inches overnight. They delayed school by 2 hours yesterday but everything is on time today.

I'm also mailing out my F&S squares round 3 on Tuesday. I recieved Pegs address ffrom Annemarie. Thanks so much Annemarie! For some reason Vonna's emails are not coming through. Anyway the Post office is closed Friday through Monday for the four day here so I have to wait for Tuesday to send them out but I'm going to send them the fastest way possible since I received her address so late. I don't want her to have to wait longer because of emails not getting through.

Miribilia Halloween Fairy and F&S Exchange

Okay here is my round 2 squares for the fair and square exchange. I had to use Ulla's photos as I guess I forgot to take pictures before I mailed them off.
Now we are through with round 3 but mine aren't mailed out to my new partner Peg because I do not have her address, Vonna sent me it again but I didn't receive it. I even checked my bulk and spam folder andit wasn't there either so I am trying to get a hold of vonna to get Peg's address still. Hopefully soon. And as soon as Peg has her squares from me I will post a picture of them here for you all to see. I remembered to take a picture this time!

And here is my Miribilia Fairy as of Sunday evening before I went to bed. I'm almost finished with her. But its wierd working on her now as its past Halloween but I hate to put her away until next year with so much of her completed. I am hoping by the time I post next Monday I will have a completed one to show you.

I am going to try and finish up my last 2 PIF gifts this week too so on the 15th I can just take all of them to the post office and get them mailed out before all the holiday packages start going out.

Miribilia Halloween Fairy and Monochromatic exchange

Alrighty Blogger is finally loading up pictures so here is what I stitched this month.
October 1st through October 15th

October 15th through October 22nd

October 22nd through October 29th

And I had an exchange come in also, this was for the monochromatic colour exchange through TOL, my partner chose purple for me and funny enough I chose purple for my partner. Emilie in Nova Scotia sent me this cute scissor fob and little silver scissors, it was her first one and I think she did a great job. Thanks Emilie!
And here is what I sent my partner, I'm drawing a blank right now on who I sent to but I used different shades of purple, this was my second needlebook but I like how this one came out better, I used a plastic canvas on the inside to stiffen it up more so it was more like a book.

Good news and bad news

First the good news!

I am almost complete with my miribilia fairy! Just that darn krienik thread thats slowing me down some. The beads go so fast so the ones near her feet and in front of her will be finished fast after the krienik is completed. Here she is:

I had realized after I had outlined her arms and face that back when I outlined her legs I had done so in the wrong color! So I had to frog that and redo it. I'm not really fond of how this krienik is laying down either.

I also made it to the post office today with the intent of buying some postcards to send off to everyone who sent me their snail mail but the bookmark which sells the postcards is closed on mondays! I had no idea, so Wednesday since I have to go to the commissary anyways, I will then send off the postcards. So if you haven't sent me your snail mail and you want in then pls send it to me by Tuesday. My email is on my profile her on my blog.

Now the bad news:

Yesterday morning my dear Otis ran away! He was an indoor/outdoor cat when we adopted him and I guess it drove him nuts to beinside all the time and so he escaped when my DH was coming in and out the door. We plan to put up posters to see if anyone will be kind enough to return him if he is found. But cats are so hard to come by here that I doubt he will be returned. DH promised to find me another furbaby. One that is just an indoor cat only. Its still sad and I am a bit depressed right now.

Miribilia Easter Fairy Update

Here she is as of last night. This is the first time I have gotten to work with Krienik Metallic threads and let me just say I hate it. Its pretty but it sucks, its so rough and irritating to work with so I think that part of her wings is going to go a bit slower than usual, but I still plan to have her completed before Easter on April 8th. You can also see in this picture the beads I have been able to put in. The ones outside of her will be last seeing as this is the largest hoop I own not counting my floor stand and I don't own any Q-snaps yet, though after this project I am thinking I seriously need to get some. This week I have to get a birthday gift finished up and mailed out by Friday plus I still have to mail out a very late bday gift to a dear friend of mine.

Postcard Exchange and Update

Okay, Thank you to everyone who responded to the post card exchange idea. Do you all want to send to each other as well? I will send to everyone who sends me one, so let me know, ok? Also can you all email me your snail mail addy's? My email is on my profile here.

I'm sorry I haven't been around in awhile. My camera card was stolen by little ones here and I have yet to find it and it had my update picture on it. So I took the one from my DH's old ipod so I could retake a picture for you all. I have also been sick. My lungs contracted Sunday evening and I could barely breath. I know its from holding Otis after his bath. So i thought if I showered and got some rest then by morning I would be okay. Turns out it was worse Monday morning and since it was a four day i couldn't go to the clinic and I wasn't about to go to the hospital here either, I have no trust for them as all my fellow readers know. Anyway I had to cough to exhale sadly and so I spent the day on the couch wheezing and wondering if I was going to pass out or not. I didn't but did make it through Monday night waking up with a little relief. DH and I went to the clinic Tuesday after dropping Destiny off at Sure Start. They were going to wait and give me an appt at 1405 but my DH wouldn't accept that and we went to the triage nurses who thought it was only allergies and thought the pharmacist could give me something for it and thus sent me away. Even though I told them both that I know whats wrong with me and I need an allergy inhaler which is in no way over the counter stuff. So here I am going lets take the appt, I need to see the Dr. Well, Ms Latif (a nurse under Destiny's main diabetes Dr for the clinic) came out to find me since Destiny's school nurse called. Destiny's sugar levels were elevated and again she couldn't simply follow Dr's orders, she had to have me tell her what they were though she has the paper in front of her. Anyway back to me, Ms Latif found Dr Stein and he heard me wheezing and ordered the head nurse to fit me in to see the Dr ASAP. Finally hours later I was given the prescription for my inhaler and ordered to go back on Thursday for anibiotics since my tonsils are also inflamed. She wanted to give them to me yesterday but I am allergic to Amoxicillan and then the one she wanted to give me I hadn't heard of so she was like ok one problem at a time. My blood pressure was also 146 over 103 and that was with my Atenonal in me. They also did my oxygen saturation and a normal person is 99 to 100% and an emergancy case is 95% and lower, I was at 96% I couldn't even lay down, she said I had fluid in my lungs too. Scary stuff. Anyway the inhaler worked and I can breath at last!

Stitching Update
Here is my current update on my Miribilia Fairy:

I found a smaller needle (not a beading needle) and was able to attach all the beads on her dress.

I also received a package over the weekend which was very sweet but I am confused as I don't think its an exchange gift. Its from an S. Montgomery in Kirkcaldy. So if this is you or anyone knows who she is please let me know so I can properly thank her. There was no note in the envelope either. Here are pictures of what I received:

And a close up of the biscornu scoissor fob:

Everything really is quite lovely. :o)

EDIT: Carol, Thanks for letting me know, I was thrilled and confused to receive her gift. Now I can go thank her properly for her wonderful gift. :o) And yes I am still game on the SAL, tried to go comment on your blog but my ISP kept crashing. Please let me know when you two finish Paradigm. :o)

Thank you all for the lovely comments, I am feeling better and am able to breath normally.

Easter Fairy

This one seems to be flying by so here's my update as of tonight:

I also found out today that two of my friends are pregnant and one is having twins! So now its time for me to start working on their gifts too. :o)

EDIT: Someone pls help me. I wanted to add some of the beads to this to help fill in some of the areas as I go, but once the bads slide down the needle to the floss they stop and won't get over the eye of the needle with the floss, I don't own a smaller needle and I am using the one that came with the kit. How did you get yours to slide on? Do I need to wet th floss? I am using one strand.

Miribilia Easter Fairy

Thank you everyone who commented on my DH and Otis. I appreciate it. I didn't post his photo for more comments. I'm proud of him that's why its posted.

On another great note: My new tower came in on Monday and the DH connected it right away, we got the new Windows called Windows Vista. I really like it much better than the Windows XP Home Edition we had on the old tower.

On the stitchy front: I knw I said I planned to do the chair first but I have to wait until the 15th to order the floss and fabric so by the end of March I should be able to start it. So instead Monday night I started Miribilia's Easter fairy. I couldn't help it, she was calling to me to stitch her so I caved can you blame me?

And here's my first WIP picture. Its going so fast and I am really enjoying stitching this one. :o)

Sorry for the bad picture, the lighting is not so great in here, perhaps this afternoon I can go out onto the balcony and snap a better photo.

Stitchy question: For anyone that has added beads onto their xs projects, how do you determine what color to use to add them on? I am not sure what floss color I am suppose to add these beads. They look clear with silver.

Also the paper that came with it said there were 6 limited edition fairies, what are all they? I only can think of Easter, Christmas, Halloween, and perhaps New Years? Though I think New Years might be #7.

Awesome Mail Day!

Today the remainder of my stash has arrived! My miribilia kits:

My Peacock stitching chair: Both (one for me and one for my mom)

And last but not least Mlady Snow by PR, I ordered all the floss, beads, and fabric for it at the same time.:

So which will I do first? The first of two Peacock stitching chairs. Carolyn have you got your in yet? I'm waiting to SAL with you. :o)
On the stitching side I have been stitching but its a gift and so therefore I cannot show you any of it. But no worries this week I will have something to show you. I am eager to start some of these but I must finish my gift first.

Post Xmas Exchange and Mail! Also PIF

First, I am feeling a lot better now. My head is no longer clogged feeling and I can breath some though I am still getting plugged up at night, so maybe another day or two before I fully recover. My two little ones are still sick but slowly getting better. They both got more medicine today from the clinic.

Second, I had joined a Post Xmas Blues Exchange, where you send $10 of anything to cheer the other person up and yesterday I received mine. I am sending mine tomorrow, its been packaged and ready for almost 2 weeks! Hey, I have been sick and the deadline is the end of February so tomorrow I am off to the post office to send everything out.

Susy did an excellent job didn't she? I definitly don't have any xmas blues after opening this. I sure hope my receiver likes theirs.

I still have no stitching to show sadly. I bought this Gamecube game called Sims 2: Pets and I have been attached to it for a week now! I know too much TV, lol. I have to pull away anyways since I have Bday gifts to work on. I will try to stitch some other things too so I can have something to show you guys.

Thank you ALL for your sweet comments. They really helped. I appreciate all of you who take the time to comment here. Thank you again. :o)

EDIT: Okay DH came home with an arm full of stuff, lol. From my wonderful Aunt Leala who is as excited as I am to have another crocheter in the family. She sent all the way from St. Vancouver, Washington. The Annies Attic binder of crochet barbie patterns. She joined this when her daughter was young and since now her daughter is all grown up she past the binder to me. Also she sent me some cute food patterns. So yes, in the near future you may be seeing some crochet projects on here. I apologize in advance for my fellow bloggers who are not fond of crochet.

Also I had bought some cross stitch patterns from a nice lady who needed help lightening her load of xs patterns and 3 weeks later they have finally arrived! Here they are:

Now I have this awful decision on what to start first, LMAO. I am definitly feeling better. :o)

Okay for PIF I have:

Cindy - Got your info

Jennifer - Got your info

Cheryl - Got your info

Sonya - Got your info

And I have one spot left so anyone who wants it please email me your snail mail and put PIF in the subject box.
