Newest Crochet Blanket
These are each individual squares I am attaching as they are stitched so there wont be any joining at the end. I told my mom I would crochet her a blanket and I am hoping to have this one completed by the time her birthday hits in May. My goal is one square per day, more if I feel like it. That way this will be done in time for her birthday and it leaves me time during the day to cross stitch as well if I want. ^_^ It is being done in these four colors since my mom is a fan of the Victorian Era.

Crocheted flower headband
My younger sister saw this website where this lady makes headbands and puts these fake flowers on them. She wants about $8.00 USD for each one and when i saw them I was like I can do that for way cheaper! So here is my first attempt with a fake flower I already had on hand. I took it apart and added a shiny button for the center.
I think when DH returns home we will go fake flower shopping. :-) Heather wants me to make some for Mina. I love the top picture of Kiley! This also qualifies as my first finish of the year! woohoo!

Here are three squares I made up for my moms blanket. But they aren't laying out flat. So i go back to her place this weekend and we will try blocking them but we are thinking about picking a different pattern for her blanket. I'm making this blanket in exchange for some hand knitted socks :-)
My mom received a BEAUTIFUL blanket from my Aunt Leala and so I just wanted to show it off to you all.
Have a great week!

Stitching, crocheting, rain, and clay oh my!
Ok well fabric is lighter but this shows the stitching better. This is the 2nd chair in the series from the cat's whiskers. I got this far and then did the heart like 3 times and none of them looked right so i got frustrated and gave up. I think i'll add it in a different way.
I made this little purse for Destiny. Its a freebie link is here I just changed the colors and made tassels for the ends instead of shamrocks. I organized my craft room looking for 3 crochet hooks to finish a baby blanket and they are no where so I will have to look harder or buy new ones soon!
Then we got rained in big time! The rain hit my door and flooded so hard my entry way was all wet. It had come in the bottom of my door. So instead of going outside we played with clay!
haha I know funny huh? Its all one color cause Kiley combined them all. Since Destiny is really big on cake decorating right now I made this little clay cake with a teddy bear on top. Yes she is into teddy bears too. LOL ok my miniatures leaves something to be desired. Oh well we had fun while we waited out the rain!
Have a great week everyone! The girls have their school physicals tomorrow and poor Destiny may need a shot that wasn't required before but is now.
Oh! I want to share this video. Duke just went bananas over the peanut butter this past week! I was LOLing so much!

Some Cross Stitching and a finish!
Recognize this? Its my Chinese Goddess piece. After I finished crocheting the baby blanket for Baby Girl Martin I was in the mood to stitch on it. I did some more of the light pink around her head. Not too much done but its progress and it was so nice to stitch on something. My big round hoop stand was destroyed in the move so I'm on the hunt for a new stand.
Here is the baby blanket I finished for Baby Girl Martin. It is the size of a crib bed. Plus its not the normal rectangular ones. I wanted something different for her. Besides we found out she is going to be a special needs child. She has Cystic Fibrosis ( 1 out of 3,000 get it). We won't know the severity of it until she is born this September. I am hoping its a very light case instead of a worse one as I know that my sister is very sensitive and won't be too emotionally stable if its a severe case. Anyways pls keep her and the baby in your prayers.

Crocheted Squares and Meet Zeus!
And DH couldn't resist this one i guess. Zeus and I fell asleep Sunday afternoon. I was having some bad allergies and with all the meds i took to get rid of them I crashed without realizing it. Ask DH I can only sleep at home in my bed or at my moms house so this is a rare moment which i blame totally on allergy medicine. That's my story and i'm sticking to it!

So i leave you all with this photo of Manzo that DH took last night. He stayed in this thing covered up for quite awhile. And yes miss Kiley was in her play makeup before this picture was taken.

Baby blankets have begun
Well between my two sisters and my two cousins, I have 4 baby blankets to complete. My two cousins will be first as they are due first. So far we know there will be one boy. So I have decided the blankets will be made from attached granny squares. A good way for me to destash some of the yarn i have. So here is what I completed last night.

Crochet Baby Bee and much needed update
Goodbyes were made...
We then moved to our hotel for the last few days before our flight, it was tiny but cozy
We enjoyed the local Doners stand and had some most delicious Turkish food
Some temporary tattoos were added into our days from the nice bakery across the street from our hotel.
More goodbyes were made to our dear German friends and the girls had there final playtie together.
Remember this piece? I found this fabric at Hobby Lobby the day after we got here and thought I would make this into a hanger for my new kitchen when we get our new house.
And since I have had a bad cold sinceI got here I wasn't feeling up to any crafting till today when I saw this adorable baby bee patern on my moms skein of yarn she is using to make my girls a blanket. My girls wanted this little gal when she was completed but my mom was just feeling down and upset too so i took it to her and said here bee happy! I know cheesy but she loved this baby bee and it made her smile so mission accomplished!
Our flight went well and I was so exhausted by the time we had landed. Neither kids slept and i didnt either. DH slept like a baby no shock there.I was up for nearly 30 hours by the time i went to sleep that night. Since this post is so picture heavy I will wait until tomorrow to share Christmas and new years and pictures of my beautiful baby nephew.I hope you all had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Here are our costumes for Halloween night. It was so much fun going out but oh so cold so DH and I were nearly frozen when we came home. I wore 6 inch heels that blinked pink and got lots of compliments though i was in so much pain halfway home that my legs gave out and I fell down. Luckily i didn't get seriously injured though i walked home the rest of the way barefoot and the cold felt soo good on my aching feet. We forgot to carve our pumpkin too, any ideas what to do with it now?

NON STITCHING NEWS:
DH got to re up in Romania! I'm so proud of him! And Fort Carson is in his contract! WooHoo!! Congrats babe!
STITCHING NEWS
Here are the curtains I made for my darling nephew Poe's room. I stayed up till midnight on the 14th to get them completed for mailing on the 15th. They are Precious Moments and if you recall they match the quilt I made him, in fact this is the same fabric that was used for the back of his quilt. I just had to order more. If you don't remember the post I am talking about then click here
And these two little things are small Halloween bowls. I actually used a free pattern for a bag and just went up to Row 9 before stopping. I may fill them with candy....any ideas? They are sitting on my coffee table right now. Free pattern is here
And here are my squares for Fair and Square Round 15 from Peg! They will make a great addition to my friendship quilt. To see the post of my quilt click here. I don't think they have my fabric anymore either so I will just use what I can for now and leave it smaller than planned if I can't get more from Joann's.
So I went to the post office on the 15th with the intent of mailing off 4 packages, one to Lynnette filled with baby things, a few gifts for family sent to my mom, my fall F&S exchange to Jeanie C in Singapore, AND my very first MA to Dawn. So I go to the guy I know and my husband and him are friends and he sees my MA and is like
him: "this is so nice! Are you sure you don't want to put it into an envelope?"
Me: Nope please put actual stamps on it and all
him: you want me to stamp on your fabric? what is this? hemp?
Me: no its linen and yes stamp on it
him: hey (guys name next to him) look at this! Isn't it nice?
Guy: Yea that's nice! Did you make that?
Me: Yes I did (beaming with pride)
Guy: is that knitting or what is it
Me: (looking at him like he's crazy) No its cross stitch
Guy: oh OK (then precedes to ask me about myself blah blah blah)
him: I'm not sure if I can mail it like this, let me check with my manager (checks & yes he can)
Me: (Rolls eyes) You can mail it this way. People do it all the time
OK so the stamps are on there, are you sure you don't want to put it into something else? I worry it will get dirty
Me: No please just mail it like it is
him: OK ready (he positions the black time date stamp over the proper place and gives me an are you sure look and when I give him a blank stare he stamps it) I have to put tape over this to ensure they stay, OK?
Me: OK that's fine.
Then I was able to pay. I left kind of laughing at how many postal workers/stitchers have gone through this same conversation. If you made it this far, congrats to you and thanks for reading through my post!

Newborn baby hats
Simply Sweet Baby Hat
Red Heart Super Saver yarn
Red Heart Super Saver yarn
I found this pattern on Crochetville today and it works up quickly and easily so I made 5 today all for baby Poe. Though these are a great way to use up that xtra yarn and I know hospitals always need them for all the newborns so I am thinking of making some more and taking them down to the local hospital here. You may see some more of these over the next week since I will be stitching too but I wont be able to show it to you yet.
Happy Stitching!

Birthday and a teddy bear
As most of you know, yesterday was my birthday but with DH gone, I wasn't really in the mood to celebrate. My dad called and my older sis Lynnette IM'd me plus I got various texts and calls and friends stopping by so don't get me wrong I didn't just sit at home and sulk. I didn't receive any stitchy gifts which does not shock or upset me as I know I have been kind of "absent" this year. Anyway the above photos are some of my small celebration with the kids. (Please ignore my dirty stove, I was on a cleaning ban yesterday) They decorated the cake and surprised me with the way it looks. They had a blast ^_^
