SMO day 9 SAL Start

Heres what I completed of the SMO SAL Day 9on Tuesday. Hopefully next week it will be finished. On the May 5th we start Day 8.

Photobucket

And here is my lady of snow as of last night. I got a few hours in on her but I really feel like I am going nowhere fast with her even though I get in at least 100 stitches each week. Maybe its all the grey I am doing, I may have to do some of the blue to the left next week, maybe that will motivate me some more.

We got our money in from the government yesterday too! They gave us 1,750 for a family with 2 adults and 2 kids. I would love to stash shop with some of this but its going to my DH laptop for when he deploys and also I bought an elliptical machine so I can workout at home and then the rest is getting saved because on May 24th is a 4 day weekend so we are going to go to Legoland which i have to price today since we are going to need to buy Euros before we go. I hope the Euro rates get better by then. I always feel like we lose so much money converting from USD to Euro.

Collecting Shells and Fair and Square Round 6

I completed my Towel Exchange this morning and so I decided its time to try and get back into my rotation. So I pulled out Collecting Shells and worked on her dress. I'm not sure if you can see it but I did a lot of white and a little bit of purple and blues too. Saturday we found a place in the Atrium that would pierce your childs ears as long as they were 3 so we paid 6 Euros and had them pirce Kileys ears. She picked out some little pink stoned ones, I'll try and snap a picture later to show you.

And I just found out today that Laura M. has received the my Fair and Square Round 6 squares and they went off with a hit! I am so glad you liked them Laura. :)
And finally my younger sister sent me this photo of my only nephew Rowan. He is in headstart this year and so this is his yearly picture and next year he will be in Kindergarten. I am not sure why one of his ears is darker than the other though....

EMS Rose Sampler and F&S Exchange

Yay! I finished part 3 of my EMS Rose Sampler and I also received my Fair and Square Round 6 squares from Laura. I really liked them and she also included so many goodies! I feel spoiled, Thank you Laura M, you did a great job!

Now I am working on my towel exchange and am really happy because the original design I was going to use didn't thrill me but I found one last night that I really love and am much happier with and then I can get back to my rotation for a bit. I also had signed up for the Fair and squares July 4th round but I have until June 2nd to get that mailed out so no hurry. :)

Peacock stitching Chair #2, EMS Rose Sampler, and Exchanges

Okay so you know how I told you I had the itch to start something new? well the Peacock stitching chair won out. In one day i completed the scissor fob, chair sides, the front drawer, and part of the arms. I also am showing you the progress on my EMS Rose Sampler. Its really bothering me that I am behind on this so I have been working on it today to try and get it caught up especially since I am still on part 3 and part 5 is to be released in a week. So yes, I am trying my best to get caught up before I get too far behind. But soon I have to quit becuase my Mothers day towel exchange is due to mail out May 1st and I haven't even started on it yet but no worries! I will complete it in time. :)

I just heard today that my partner has received my Monchromatic biscournu exchange on the floss moms board. Rachel I am so glad you liked it and all the goodies inside. :) I chose Green as my theme and used many colors of greens to stitch her 5 inch biscournu and even used a mint green fabric to stitch it on. I used a green flower button for the center of the biscournu. If any of you remember it is the same buttons I used on both DD's sweaters, I just changed out the center so both center and outside would be green. Here is what I sent to her:
The front and back of the biscournu before stitching together.

On a bad side, I have not stitched Thursday through Sunday because I have been a bit down. My DH is getting ready for his first deployment at the end of the summer to the worst place of all and its not Iraq. They may stick him with another unit and that would move us from bamberg to K town, which i am dreading. I have finally settled here and things are going good with the school and Destiny's diabetes German Dr and I don't know what they have set up in K town not to mention its huge there and the base is divided up into four bases and I don't drive here, the orads are too small and make me nervous so I never bothered to try and get my liscence here. DH's SGT is trying to make it a temporary thing that he goes with this unit so we can stay in Bamberg which I am asking everyone pray that it happens and of course for DH's safe return. I just heard today from my upstairs neighbor that her DH who is also an 88M like my DH was injured today while driving a convoy, it was just his leg but still it makes me worry more. Her little girl who is Destiny's age is sitting on their balcony while her mommy is on the phone looking as depressed as can be. I just wanted to go up there and hug her.

DH has food poisioning today too. Turns out I had some expired eggs in my refrigerator and he ate them. I don't really cook eggs so when I do I check the expiration date on te package but he didn't and he ate a few yesterday. Now he is vomiting and can't keep anything down and has been in bed since they let him come hoem finally at 1500. I feel for him, I hate that this has to just run its course and there's nothing I can do to make him feel better. So this is my life lately, hopefully things will get better soon but as I am not working this week it just leaves more time to worry and stress and when I am like that it is hard for me to sit down and stitch.

Alrighty, guess I didn't do too bad scanning this in, lol. Heres is my progress of yesterday and today. Its not too much more done than last week. I got about 3 to 4 hours done on it. Since I have been working this week its been cutting down on my stitching time. I also mailed off my F&S Exchange and my monochromatic biscournu exchange so as soon as my parnters receive them I can show them to you. I just have to do my towel exchange now but its not do to mailout until May 1st so I still have a few weeks.

Chinese Goddess Of Mercy

Well here she is as of last Friday night. I'm sorry for the bad picture but DH went to the field for 2 weeks and took his camera with him along with the memory card so I am stuck trying to use our webcam to snap pictures especially with this one as it is way too big to put on the scanner. Anyway by last Friday I had completed all of the little girls head and started on some of the moon and other outlining.
By Saturday I was way too bored with Collecting shells to even do more than 15 white stitches on her so no photo yet as its too pathetic to even take a picture. So for the last several days I have been working on the peacock chair. I had to order some batting for when I put it together which won't be done until DH returns home anyways since he hammers the feet onto the chair. I'm way to nervous to take a hammer to some beads. I noticed on my Garden Chair that I ordered back in Feb from ABCStitch that I was missing the beads and 1 1/2 inch brads to attach them so I emailed Marie and she apologized for them missing from my package and said they would be sent out to me but its been weeks and I received today some things I had on backorder since Feb but no feet yet. I'm going to be really mad if I don't get them since I did pay for them.
I sold my first thing on my etsy store! I'm so excited especially because their books I won't use anymore and at least they can go to someone who will use them.
Do any of you buy Disney books for your kids or grand kids? I get them in regular shipments but I have 6 of them that are repeats and so they need a new home. They are all brand new, hardcover, and in English. I'll sell them for $5 each and that will include the shipping and handling too. If your interested then please email me at Poohcorner1114 at yahoo dot com and put in the subject line Disney Books so I don't mistake it for spam mail. Oh! The list of books are: Beauty and the Beast, Cinderella, Toy Story 2, Pinocchio, The Little Mermaid, and winnie the Pooh's How to Catch a Heffalump.

Well I got a few hours in yesterday on her and here she is so far. I'm trying to go back to my rotation now and I'll just finish up my towel exchange on Mondays maybe or over this weekend so on April 15th I can get everything to the post office at once. I am getting that itch to start something new too, like maybe the Peacock stitching chair. I know I already stitched this one but I gave it to my mom and so I want to stitch one for myself and then I have the garden chair I want to do too but I am waiting on the feet for that one.

EMS 2008 Rose Sampler and Dragon Dreams

Here is part 2 of the EMS 2008 Rose Sampler. I completed it several days ago but since DH had a 4 day wekend I couldn't get to the computer as he spent 24/7 glued to our only computer. Part 4 was released also so I am catching up. I got bored though so I had to switch to another project for a bit. I completed my Monochromatic Biscournu Exchange for the Flossmoms Board. And I am mostly through with my F&S Exchange. But I can't show my exchanges until my partners receive them and I can't mail them until April 15th. I am also going to try and complete the Mothers Day Towel Exchange too so I can mail off all 3 together and then I am back to my rotation.

And I proudly present this little dragon, He is my DD's Destiny first completed project and she even added the beads herself! This is the 48 hour dragon dreams freebie. I'm so proud of her! She is now on to making a butterfly.
