Coffin Buzz

Ok put this on my scanner again. Here is where I am at as of last night. With all that I had to do yesterday I only got the words "Bring Me Coffee" done. Sorry the scan is crooked, I have issues getting my stitching straight on the scanner. I am wondering if I have enough floss to finish it as I realized I am running low on my bobbin so today I am going to go search through my extra and see if I have a spare. I am using DMC 838 on this piece. I may need to put in an order with my floss mom as I think I need a few other colors as well refilled.

Anyway, today should be a relaxed day for me. I only have my laundry to do today and of course the normal day to day house cleaning and then I should be able to stitch away, hopefully.

HAPPY STITCHING!

EDITED TO ADD: I don't have another one!!!

Exchanges, Gifts, and more

My belated Birthday gift to an old friend Dawn has arrived at last. I crocheted her these two kitty potholders and cross stitched a cute little butterfly pillow. I am so glad you liked it. ^_^

Here are the scarves and hats I talked about that I did up to use up some of the leftover yarn I had. If any of you have been visiting my blog long enough you should recognize the multi colored purplish yarn called Plum Pudding as the yarn I used when I crocheted the girls there sweater hoodies here I believe I actually still have one more skein of this. I had ordered enough for thier hoodies and then found out they would be way too big so brought the size down and leaving me 3 extra skeins of it. The camo one was just one I had buried in the back so I thought it wold make a good scarf, I love the wavy effect that multi colored yarn does when its knitted like this. The hats and plum pudding scarf have been claimed by the kids so now I am not sure what to do with the camo one and dark blue one. You think they would sell in etsy? If so what seems like a good price?
I did stitch on coffin buzz last night but not too much was completed. Please excuse the crinkles and hoop mark. I scanned this in the scanner real quick. I am still working on the top motif which seems to be dragging for me. But today I think I will continue to work on it. With any luck I will have a stitching happy dance tomorrow though I still have laundry to do today so I will try to get done what I can stitchy wise.
I found out today also that my Fair and Square Easter round has arrived safely to Barbara CL so here they are. ^_^

wow, I am so burned out lately. I knitted a few more scarfs and a couple of hats on my new knitting machine on Friday just to use up some of those leftover scraps and help make room for more yarn. And then Batista ate my tension holder! So now there is no tension on my machine so I have to call and order a new piece already!

Yesterday we went to Neuhaus-Pegnitz with a few friends and visited the great grandparents and the castle there and then off to Vielseck and then graff to look for a flat iron with interchangeable plates as those are the ones I was told will turn so I can make the curls like my hair stylist did. They didn't have any so I will have to search on amazon for one which I had figured I would end up doing so no biggie there. It was so late by the time we all got home that i fed batista, gave him his antibiotics and crashed out.

Today DH has staff duty (24 hour shift) and so I am spending my day cleaning and doing tons of laundry. I'm tired and the kids are exhausted still from yesterday. It was just lots of running around. So I don't know if I will do anything today towards crafting though I would really like to finish my plum street sampler freebie soon. I have decided to make my first flat fold with it. So perhaps after I get the kids to bed I can pull it out and stitch on it tonight. How is everyone elses weekend going?

HAPPY STITCHING!!!

Some stitching! And knitting?

Yep thats right you read correctly! I always love the way knitted stuff comes out but I never have the patience to sit and knit, nothing would ever be completed so about a month ago I ordered this adult knitting machine and yesterday it came in. You just load the yarn onto the hooks and turn the handle and it knits for you! Easy right? Well I grabbed an extra skein of yarn I had lying around for ages and did the beginners pattern for a scarf and I finished it with a simple gathered ends. Kiley decided to model it for me and thats closer to the actual color than the one when I layed it out on the chair. It took me about 2 hours to knit and finish this.
And here is my Fair and Square Easter round from Barbara CL. Isn't it cute? Thanks Barbara! And below is my new hair style! On the 10th I went in and had it cut and highlighted and low lighted and she showed me how to curl it with a flat iron! I was shocked and amazed as my hair never stays curled and this way it stayed for like 24 hours. This is after the curls were coming out and I had been hailed and rained on. I forgot to tell DH to take a pic of me when I came home after getting it done. She cut nearly 10 inches off my hair and thinned it out for me as it was super thick. I love it! Sorry for the crap pic though
Batista went to the vet yesterday too and he was weighed in at 30 lbs! Thats a gain of 7 lbs in 2 weeks. He was still a bit ill and turns out he needed antibiotics so he is on them for 5 days twice a day. He sleeps more since we started his meds yesterday. He also got his 2nd round of shots needed and he goes back at the end of the month for his 3rd round and also his rabies vaccine which will last him 3 years.

Also GREAT NEWS!!! My mom is coming up this June to visit for 3 weeks! I haven't seen her in 3 years so it will be great to see her again. We will be traveling the country side and enjoying the sites with her and the girls.

Well, I am off to play with my knitting machine again. Happy Stitching!

YOU KNOW YOU ARE LIVING IN 2009 when...

1. You accidentally enter your password on the microwave.

2. You haven't played solitaire with real cards in years

3. You have a list of 15 phone numbers to reach your family of 3.

4. You e-mail the person who works at the desk next to you.

5. Your reason for not staying in touch with friends and family is that they don't have e-mail addresses.

6. You pull up in your own driveway and use your cell phone to see if anyone is home to help you carry in the groceries.

7. Every commercial on television has a web site at the bottom of the screen.

8. Leaving the house without your cell phone, which you didn't have the first 20 or 30 (or 60) years of your life, is now a cause for panic and you turn around to go and get it.

10. You get up in the morning and go on line before getting
your coffee.

11. You start tilting your head sideways to smile. : )

12. You're reading this and nodding and laughing.

13. Even worse, you know exactly to whom you are going to forward
this message.

14. You are too busy to notice there was no #9 on this list.

15. You actually scrolled back up to check that there wasn't a #9
on this list

AND NOW YOU ARE LAUGHING at yourself.

My Gorgeous Girls School Portrait

Destiny brought home the girls' school portraits today. I love it!!!!! This has to be my favorite so far. They let both my girls take a pic together so that I only have to pay for one package which is awesome as it saves me $50. Anyway I just had to show off my beautiful babies new picture. ^_^

Fair and Square Round 12 and goodies

So here is the onsie as of last night. I have one row of the green done. Its not so mint coloured though, its darker.
My Round 12 for Fair and square from Sonda M. arrived last night as well. Their perfect, I don't know if you can tell but there are so many beads on this square. Thank you Sonda! Sonda is a year behind as well, can you tell she stitched 2008? Its ok though.
And my package from Silkweaver also came in. I got three white 9 x 13 32 count Laguna fabrics for my Fair and Square exchanges and this mocha opalescent was there colour of the week and I couldn't help getting a cut of it. There were also some beads and treasures on sale as well so I grabbed a few. This is the first bit of stash I have gotten in awhile. So I was happy when it arrived. :)

DH has staff duty yet again today so I plan to complete my last 2 exchanges today for Fair and Sqaure. I think I may post pone signing up for the next few rounds so I can complete some stuff for my sisters baby before its born. But we will see how that goes as the Spring round has just opened up for sign ups and I am itching to join! Anyway i have a signature square to stitch up and get mailed out if the weather remains nice and I can also mail out a much belated birthday gift as well.

Happy Stitching!

GREAT NEWS!!!!!!!

I got DH to wash Batista this weekend and he just sat in the tub and allowed himself to get washed and then since DH knows I cannot be around wet animals as it closes up my lungs (found this out the hard way) so he used the blow dryer on Batista, I guess it felt good cause he laid down until finished. And I guess that was just too tiring too cause he went into his kennel and curled up into his bed and went to sleep. ^_^

And here is how far I got on Coffin Buzz Saturday when I called my older sister Lynnette in Wyoming and found out that she is 5 weeks pregnant with their first child!! She is a fellow stitcher as well just no blog yet but I keep telling her to get one (hint, hint sis) Anyway I am sooo excited!!!!! Her and her boyfriend Shawn have been trying for nearly a year so its awesome she is finally going to be a mommy! Shawn is already hinting at her about a second child, LMAO. She hinted at a Layette set for the baby so.....
Anyway I put away Coffin Buzz and pulled out my Hooked on Crochet magazines and found this cute onsie, so I pulled out my white with sparkles and my green soft yarn and got to work. I have about 5 more rows of white left and then its time to work on the body. So I am telling you all that there will probably lots of baby stuff on here for the majority of the year. Her theme is Precious Moments of course, ^_^ Wanna hear something ironic? About 2 weeks ago I ordered some Caron baby yarn 2 lbs worth! Hey, they were on sale! What's a gal to do? So I hope its a girl cause one of them is pink and I don't recall what the other color was but anyway I still have 8 months to do everything. I had told her years ago that I would cross stitch her a baby blanket too for when she had a child so yes now its time to get that done. I have one baby afghan with 35 blocks at about 4.5 in x 4.5 in so I could use that or I may order another one with bigger blocks.

Oh! They have already picked out first names too Poe _____ Jones for a boy and Kachana_______Jones for a girl. Shawn picked the first names and Lynnette gets to fill in the middle names. Any ideas? I already told her I am calling her son PJ if she has a boy as Poe is wierd to me but Its after Shawns favorite poet Edgar Allan Poe.

Happy Stitching!

Snowmen!

I had completely forgot that several months ago I had joined an ornament of the month club. Each month you get to make Christmas ornaments and try new crafts at the same time. Well yesterday these three little guys showed up in my mailbox. ^_^ They needed to be hand painted and then ornament glitter was added to the white areas after the paint was dry. So in about 3 or 4 hours these 3 little snowmen were ready! So now they will each get wrapped in bubble wrap and carefully placed into our ornament box till Christmas.

DH has Staff Duty today (24 hour shift) so I have plenty of stitching time after I get the house cleaned up, laundry done, and grocery shopping done. I am hoping to get a good amount stitched on Coffin buzz as I only finished one motif and about 3 letters last night after finishing the snowmen before I had to go to bed as DH was falling asleep next to me.

HAppy Stitching everyone and as always I appreciate your wonderful comments!

Totally Useless SAL and other "stuff"

Ok first a few days ago I joined this Totally Useless SAL, it doesn't add any work to what I already do so it makes it so easy to continue to do and sounds fun as I always throw my orts onto the floor to be vacuumed up later.... Well you all know since having a 11 week old puppy, he eats everything he can find so my orts can no longer go onto my floor so this ensures it. If you want to know more or even join in you can look here. I have a few scrap flosses, some papers off new flosses and yes thats a yellow crayon. It was going to be part of something but then I changed my mind so I just tossed it into here. I got tired of working on secret projects and having nothing to post or talk about and I was just plain bored! So I dug through my freebies and found this one by Plum Street Samplers. I really like the saying so yes I was compelled to do it. It's called Coffin Buzz and I am stitching it on silkweavers Peaceful Waters 32 ct Belfast Linen. You can find it here, just scroll down.

And I will leave you with a picture of Batista who continues to test my patience and make me laugh. He thinks he is a cat, he steals yarn and eats my geraniums! I found one the other morning all over my house, he murdered the poor thing, LOL. Ok so I was livid when I saw it so no picture as it would have been blurry, I was shaking mad. So now he is Kenneled at night and while we are out of the house. Today he was locked up all day as Kiley had school and then I had issues with getting Destiny's blood sugars above 56 and staying there and even now I am skeptical. Anyway to shows his distaste even though we took him outside to play and potty when I got home, he peed and pooped in my house. He normally is pretty good about going outside but he hates the evening cold and potty's when he gets mad at DH and I. OK anyway what made me laugh about this photo is I had threatened my girls with a spoon if they didn't clean there room up as it was trashed. Which of course worked as they cleaned up immediately. Anyway I put the spoon down and Batista took off with it like he was volunteering to supervise and deal out punishment if necessary, LMAO

Is it Christmas Already?

Ok I know its not, lol. I had ordered some (6 skeins) holiday Red Heart yarn called Holly & Ivy that was on sale as its after Christmas. And it came in yesterday along with my new crochet hooks! They are the new Soft Touch Crochet Hooks so of course I had to try them out and I love them! I got the entire set of 8 in this free case. So thats what i did last night. And my yarn is all in a bundle because at 4 am Batista decided he wanted out of his kennel and was so loud I sleepily opened the door and went back to bed. Well DH gets up an hour later and Batista has taken every shoe he can find and put it in his bed and stolen mommy's yarn too! The little booger, LOL. So now this skein will get rolled up into a ball.

I was working on some presents the last few days and so I can't show you of course until after they receive them, so I will leave you with a few pictures of Batista, Kiley and Bobby playing.

It's a boy!

How was everyone's Valentines day? Mine was great! We all piled into the car and went to see DH's Oma and Opa, and then went sledding, what fun! And then we went to Graf and did some shopping. DH bought some clothes and a new pair of shoes! Yes, I am that girl that needs a room for her clothes and shoes. :) I got him a stuffed animal puppy and a box of heart chocolates. No nothing stitched as he would give me that "wtf?" look. I was going to take a pic to show you all but Kiley ran off with him that evening and then was sick on it. She became ill till last night when she was finally able to keep food down. She is happy today though. So I think she ate some bad yogurt we had just bought at the store.

Ok so about a month ago we saw Husky mix puppies, they were just the cutest things ever! So i told DH I want a Husky puppy! He asked the lady if she would sell us one but she said no, she was keeping 5 dogs in her little apartment! Irritated and determined to get me one he looked in the papers for the entire month and then this Sunday he saw in the paper someone who finds the dog for you and so we enlisted her services. Monday at noon we got an email from her showing us pure breed husky puppies in our price range! The downside was it was a 2 1/2 hour drive to there and luckily the owners agreed to let us go there yesterday (Monday) as DH was off for the holiday. We got there with some help as there house was in a bad area and kind of hidden away from the road. Anyway after meeting momma and all three puppies. Kiley and I agreed on this little guy. We had originally wanted the black one but it was a female and I really wanted a male which the two brown ones were. Dad is all brown as well. They showed us pictures. He sat in my lap the entire ride home! He refused to sit in the back seat with Kiley. He slept in his bed the entire night and is also house trained and has all his shots. We are going to have him chipped as well and possibly fixed. Did I mention he loves the snow but hates the stairs? We have to go up and down stairs to get in and out of the apartment and he is a big boy already at 2 1/2 months old. Oh before I forget, DH decided on his name its Batista! If you or your spouse watches WWE then you know where this name came from. He sure is my favorite wrestler!

I have no stitching to show you. I am working on something but its going slow as I seem to be distracting by everything lately. I have a present to get done up and a fair and square Easter exchange to stitch up and a huge migraine to boot. Plus I have a house to clean and laundry to do before I can sit and stitch so wish me luck! LOL.

EDITED TO ADD:

Yes, Batista will be going back to the states with us. He is allowed where ever the Army sends us next! ^_^

Fair and Square Round 11

DH brought me home something to cheer up my day. It wasn't from him though. It was from
him though. It was my Round 11 Fair and square squares from Veronique D (no blog) in France! How exciting is that?? I love it! Thank you so much Veronique. :)

Also a few days ago I was searching Joann fabrics online and found 2 fabrics i absolutely fell in love with for my friendship quilt so I ordered a bunch, hopefully enough of it. These are the images from the website. Here they are:

The last few days, the idea of doing any kind of crafting has just made me dread it. So all my yarn, threads, fabrics, and patterns have been tucked away out of sight. I know absolutely horrible! I think its my depression hitting that has done this so my one thing that depresses me is my weight and I know I need to drop some serious weight so as a motivation to myself and possibly others, I have put a weight loss ticker up above so you all can see my weight loss. Yes you read correctly, I want to lose 86.6 lbs. My goal is to workout for one hour 5 days a week if not more. So everyone wish me luck! And if I don't post tomorrow you.

Fair and Square Winter Round

I heard from Sonda M. today that she has received my squares. I think that's the longest journey to the USA that my squares have taken. It took them 2 weeks to get to Oregon but I am thankful they are there safely and that Sonda likes them so much. These were so fun to stitch. This was a freebie but I have no idea where it was from because there is no website printed on the pattern so if anyone knows, can you please let me know?

Now the Easter round has begun so I need to stitch those up, but what to stitch? I am going to have to dig through all my patterns I think.

Happy Stitching!

MLOTS and Cat in Window

I finally got a scroll frame! Paid something like $45 from ebay for one that comes with three sizes of scroll bars and two sizes for the height part. Anyway I spent the entire weekend adding beads to every area I was forced to skip because I had a hoop. So now I am done for now with the beading. I am now back to stitching on her but am so happy I can now add the beads as I go without worry that they will be broken from a hoop plus I love this scroll frame! I am going to wait on the outline of her hand until I complete her face and her other hand so I can do it all at once.
