Stitching and Castles

9 comments
Well here is my Chinese Goddess of Mercy so far, I was stopped because my frame fell apart. so the DH took a day before he got around to fixing it for me. So in the meantime I worked on some PIF gifts and won about 16 new packages of Mill Hill beads on ebay for $20.00 USD. I crocheted this little needlebook too yesterday afternoon:

And here's it opened up:
And now for some fun pictures. This past Saturday we took a bus for 5 hours to visit two of the most famous castles in Germany, Hohenschwangau and Neushwanstein. We weren't allowed to take pictures of the inside though but they were awesome and we all definitly got more excercise than we had bargained for. It was a 20 minute walk one direction to one of the castles and then 45 minutes to the other castle in the opposite direction, and we were rushing all the way just to make our tour times.

This one is the princess castle but from the backside as thats where the trail was to go up it. We didn't have time to go around to the front and take pictures. We had a five hour drive back and a bunch of people waiting on us so we plan to go back on our own next time, it should only take about 3 hours to drive there the way my DH drives plus we have a GPS so we won't get lost like the bus driver did.

Neuschwanstein Castle
Southwest Bavaria, Germany Built: Construction began in 1869 by Ludwig II, King of Bavaria. Pop culture connection: The design pays homage to the operas of Richard Wagner. It served as an influence for Cinderella's castle in Disney's Magical Kingdom, and Oroduran Castle in the 8th Pokémon Movie. Highlights: Its fantastical nature isn't owed to an architect, but to theatrical set designer Christian Jank. It features a room made to look like a cavern, and a secret flushing toilet in the master bedroom.

Trips and surprises!

8 comments
I havdn't realized it has been that long since my last post. So Sorry everyone! Just working on some PIF gifts and still thinking about what I am going to stitch for my monochromatic exchange.
This past Saturday I went on this very long one day trip to Weinfurtner Das Glasdorf, its a glass making place near the Czech border. I had high hopes for it since we were suppose to get to see them making the glass. It was only suppose to be a three hour drive there and it turned out to be four hours since the driver got lost. We spent hours there looking around but never saw anyone actually making anything. What a dissapointment! The landscape was pretty though. It was a four hour drive home too. I went with a group of people and the DH stayed home with the girls.

Here's as you walk into the place.

This is an actual fountain with running water down the sides.

And upon my arrival Saturday night, the bus got back on base at 930 pm. My DH and DD's gladly welcome me back and I explain to him while we were late. Turns out the guy at the CAC place that coordinates the trips had no clue there was a trip or even how to get in touch with the driver so my DH was worried the entire time we were late. We were suppose to be back at 8 pm. Anyway my DD's tell me there is a surprise for me at home so what do I see when I walk into the door, this darling 5 month old little kitten, so everyone meet Ruby:
Please ignore the stack of sirty dishes. As you can see my DH doesn't do dishes so after being gone for 14 hours, I had a dirty kitchen to clean. Anyway, Ruby has taken to the kids very well, she plays chase with them and even punces on them like there just huge kittens, lol.
I'll try and post a stitchy update tomorrow. :)

My name is Dorky Dippin Dunkin

10 comments
can't wait to hear what your new name is. This just takes a minute and will make you laugh. MY NEW NAME IS IN THE SUBJECT.....DON'T LAUGH UNTIL YOU FIND OUT WHAT YOUR NEW NAME IS ..
We all need a little stress-reliever! This only takes a minute. Please don't be a bore and ruin it. We all want to know what your new name is! Sometimes when you have a stressful day or week, you need some silliness to break up the day. If we are honest, we have a lot more stressful days than not.. Here is your dose of humor...
A. Follow the instructions to find your new name.
B. Once you have your new name, comment here. And don't go all adult - a senior manager is now known far and wide as Dorky Gizzardsniffer!
The following is excerpted from a children's book, Captain Under pants And the Perilous Plot Professor Poopypants, by Dave Pilkey, in which the evil Professor forces everyone to assume new names... So:

1. Use the third letter of your first name to determine your New first name:
a = snickle
b = doombah
c = goober
d = cheesey
e = crusty
f = greasy
g = dumbo
h = farcus
i = dorky
j = doofus
k = funky
l = boobie
m = sleezy
n = sloopy
o = fluffy
p = stinky
q = slimy
r = dorfus
s = snooty
t = tootsie
u = dipsy
v = sneezy
w = liver
x = skippy
y = dinky
z = zippy

2. Use the second letter of your last name to determine the first half of your new last name:
a = dippin
b = feather
c = batty
d = burger
e = chicken
f = barffy
g = lizard
h = waffle
i = farkle
j = monkey
k = flippin
l = fricken
m = bubble
n = rhino
o = potty
p = hamster
q = buckle
r = gizzard
s = lickin
t = snickle
u = chuckle
v = pickle
w = hubble
x = dingle
y = gorilla
z = girdle

3. Use the third letter of your last name to determine the second half of your new last name:
a = butt
b = boob
c = face
d = nose
e = hump
f = breath
g = pants
h = shorts
i = lips
j = honker
k = head
l = tush
m = chunks
n = dunkin
o = brains
p = biscuits
q = toes
r = doodle
s = fanny
t = sniffer
u = sprinkles
v = frack
w = squirt
x = humperdinck
y = hiney
z = juice

Thus, for example, George W. Bush's new name is: Fluffy Chucklefanny. And remember that children laugh an average of 146 times a day; adults laugh an average of 4 times a day. Put more laughter in you life!

And heres another WIP pic of my chinese goddess, almost done with this page. Thank you everyone for all the kind comments on her, its rally helped keep me working on this moon.And one last picture. Its Destiny's school photo. Kiley is in it because the lady was so nice enough to put her in it. They normally don't do that kind of thing and I wasn't allowed to tell any of the other parents.

Chinese Goddess WIP

9 comments
Okay so seeing everyones huge projects coming to life made me think of the BAP I have sitting in the office that I haven't touched in months. Why? Because that moon is huge and I am still on the first half and doing never ending DMC 745. I've used up two skeins already and still going if that gives you some idea of its largness. Anyway almost done with the second page of the 20 page pattern, though two of the top pages are completely empty. Anyway I got about 22 rows completed yesterday and I hope to get this page completed today.

And then I had to share this photo I snapped last night. This was Kileys way of not going to bed. She has daddy wrapped around her little pinky.

Crochet Hat

3 comments
Well, this is what I have been working on sicne yesterday. Its the beginnings of this cute hat pattern I found in on of my crochet books. The background you see is my diningroom chairs. My DH is rearranging everything in our house so now our house lookslike we are moving in still after 2 years or almost 2 years of being here. We got our names and their fav colors for the monochromatic colors exchange so now I have to think up what I am going to make for it. This will be fmore fun though since of their fav colors is also mine.

Baby Blanket

3 comments
Well, here is my progress so far, but I ran out of red so it looks a little lopsided right now. But once its completed and then blocked it should be fine. I have the yarn on order so when it gets here I can continue it, so for the meantime its getting put away and I am going to get working on those PIF gifts again. I'm so behind on them, its driving me crazy. And since I feel like crocheting the next PIF gift is going to be crocheted. =)
