F&S Exchange Round 8 and PSC

Well I heard today that Nicky R. has received the Round 8 squares from Fair and Square and she loves them! I'm so glad that you got them safely and liked them Nicky.

I also finished the seat cushion for my Peacock Stitching Chair and am working on the back part of the chair which is the main piece with a peacock and the alphabet on it. And then I can put it all together. :) I'm getting excited cause I also have the 2nd chair in the series The Garden chair which I want to start next.

Peacock Stitching Chair and F&S Summer Round

Here is the arms completed along with the scissor holder too that I completed last night. I now only have the seat cushion and the main part with the alphabet which is the seat back. So perhaps another week depending on the weather. the girls and I have been at the swimbad everyday as long as the weather has been good. Its only a 5 minute walk from our house and we are there till 8 pm each time and by the time we come home we are all too tired to do anything but sit in front of the TV so chores are done in the mornings along with any stitching I do. Today we have had bad winds with large amounts of rain and DH is feeling ill from the Taco Bell we had last night in Graff. we had gone to visit DD's great grandparents and then went to Graff to put a pink Barbie mustang on layway for the girls. Its one they can get in and drive. By the time we pay it off its only about another 5 weeks before Destiny's bday and 10 days after that is Kileys bday so that may end up being there bday gift from us. Anyway I am off to work on the cfhair seat and my kitchen needs some cleaning up too.

This week I also recieved my Fair and Square exchange from Staci. Thank you Staci!

Happy Stitching everyone and thank you all who leave your comments, they help keep me motivated. :)

Monthly SMO SAL. I started at the lower right corner but this one is a bit hard to get into.

Photobucket

Here is my EMS Rose Sampler with parts 5 and 6 completed. I did do a few stitches on this months part 7 but not enough worth another picture yet. And so I then got a bit tired of the continous DMC 333 so I heard my peacock stitching chair calling out to me to work on it so i did! I continued working on the arms and am on the last row before completion. The fabric and colours look a bit faded in the picture but I assure you they are darker. So here it is:

Our computer crashed too so I am not sure how long it will be before I am online again so please be patient with me. I'll be back as much as I can.

Finished Part 6 EMS Rose Sampler

Well, I completed part 6 of my EMS Rose Sampler and did a little bit of my monthly SMO SAL and also started part 7 of the rose sampler but I am afraid there are still no pics. I am using the laptop and don't know a way to use it to upload pics yet. I think I can use our extra drive to transfer them. But anyways we have been living at the local swimbad this week and are going again today in about 30 minutes. So I will try and figure it out tonight and maybe by tomorrow I will have tons of pics to show you. :)

Happy Stitching everyone!

EMS Rose Sampler Part 6 WIP

Well amongst my issues with the ISP once again, I have been working on Part 6 of the EMS Rose Sampler. I just need to finish up the rose and part 6 will be completed. And then I can work on part 7. I know this is all you guys have seen in awhile but I am really in the mood to just stitch on this piece right now so I figure I might as well run with it since I am behind anyways. Sorry about no pics but its not wanting to load up so I guess I will try next time. But my ISP keeps going ina nd out so I better publish while I have it.

Destiny also finished stitching a little butterfly she had been working on which I'll show a picture of next time. She has picked a PINN chart to stitch. Its a little Chinese boy holding a fish. I had kitted it up earlier in the year meaning to sticth it for my lil sister as a birthday gift but Destiny wants to try a big piece and so I figured, why not? I'll let you all know how she does. I may have to get her own blog for her soon. :)

Hedgehogs And Stitching

I completed part 5 of my EMS Rose Sampler. :) So here it is:
Photobucket

Also we were moving some furniture at around 11 pm the other night when my DH stepped outside for some air and he saw this little hedgehog running across our front yard. I had to run and get the kids after he showed me. Yes, I woke them up to show them, but he had curled into a ball by the time they got out there and Kiley got scared of it and Destiny was eager for it to unroll and run so she could see its not just a ball of spikes. You can see his foot on part of our hose under that ball.

Purple Tulip Pincushion

Well last night I made this pincushion. I know I got the pattern from somewhere online but cannot locate it right now. I'm putting it in my etsy shop if anyone is interested. I'll probably be making some more as i have the supplies at home and its so I can have some stash buying money. Plus, I am going to go through my supplies and see what patterns i have that I won't do or ones I have done but won't do again. I hope you all will take a look.

Sniffle

On the 15th we were going to buy Destiny a bunny for herself. Well DH left to get an oil change done on the car and while he was gone cocoa died, yep a horrible death that made me cringe and still haunts me in my sleep. No one killed him, OK? He was trying to get up after his peaceful nights rest and couldn't lift his head. So he started moving all four legs like crazy throwing litter out of the cage and then he started making these noises and this went on for like 10 minutes and the girls saw and it was just horrible! And you know how I can't even get near animals once they die so I stayed like 10 feet from his cage and he was in the main room and I couldn't bring myself to get close enough to put a sheet over his cage or nothing. I just texted DH to come home right away and stood on the balcony till he got home. Then we tried to call the vet cause Germany has laws saying you can't bury an animal. Well they didn't answer so we drove by and it turns out they were closed the whole day for surgery! So we asked some bike MP's and they had no idea and the chief at OMP told us to call pest control and then they told us they found someone who for 45 Euro would come get his body. Well, I am not paying 70 USD to dispose of our poor dead bunny and DH agrees so DH took him off post to the woods and buried him where no one could see what he was doing. Its easy since there's nothing but woods here. Well, destiny was all torn up and crying for hours and Kiley was a bit upset and kept saying "My bunny died, cocoa is dead" so DH decided Kiley would get a new bunny and Destiny would have to wait till next payday. That pissed me off since Destiny had been waiting 2 weeks as it was and it wasn't her fault we lost Cocoa on payday. Its Irony really that he dies the same day we were going to buy another one. Anyway we went and got Kiley a bunny and then did our grocery shopping the next day and I wouldn't let Mike put anything in the cart so I saved us $100, anyway so I then took out Euro and we went and let Destiny get her bunny. We got 2 boys both about 6 months old. Kiley's is cuddly and fluffy with long fur and loves to be held by adults. destiny's is feisty as hell and is taking a bit to get use to being held but doing good and he sat in destiny's lap for an hour today on the couch while she played a video game so he'll be fine. Here's a laugh though, their names? Kiley's' is Bobby (daddy helped her pick it) and Destiny chose to name hers: ready?? Michael! LMAO I told Mike he should be flattered she wants to name her bunny after her daddy. He laughed.

The top picture is Kiley's Bunny and the bottom one is Destinys and just to prove to you all that I have not just been doing nothing there is my stitching for the last 2 days. I am working on Part 5 of the EMS Rose sampler, I am kind of ignoring my other pieces right now though I do need to work on my SMO SAL this month too. Sorry about the blurry picture. Oh! I also have a kidney infection too! It was so bad I could hardly walk but I got some antibiotics and am OK now.

July 4th, bunnies, and a car.

Okay I just realized I hadn't shared our July 4th holiday with you. So here are some pics. We waited an hour in line to get the girls faces painted which they love having done. and then DH spent $20 USD on krispy kreme donuts. The nearest one to us is in France so they had them shipped to us. I told him why he was doing that when we could make them at home for a lot less? His answer? They won't taste the same. Yea. whatever. So then DH was hungry and with everything closed except the shoppette and neither of wanting to run home and cook a meal we get in the only food line there was. That was another hour wait just to find out they were out of cheeseburgers, hamburgers and hotdog buns. So we paid for 5 hotdogs with a slice of bread for each, 2 bags of chips, and 4 sodas. Now their was only 4 of us and when the girls saw the hotdogs they refused to eat them and only ate their chips and shared the soda dad bought them. My Dh ate 4 hotdogs and drank 2 sodas while I ate 1 hotdog and drank 1 soda. By then it was nearly 8 pm with fireworks not going off till 1030 So we took the girls thru a couple of jumping balloons and with all the screaming kids and the hot sun I was ready to leave. So we went to a friends house where the kids could play with their kids and they had a BBQ so DH ate yet again! I grabbed a beer and caught up with some friends. It was nice. really. I didn't relaize I was drinking dominican coronas which if you have ever had will mess you up pretty quickly so once the light headed drunk feeling started I stopped drinking. So we hung out and the kids watched the fireworks which my youngest Kiley exclaimed "Look mommy popping light bulbs!" LMAO that was just too cute! But we stayed till 230 am when i pestered my DH to lets go home as I was tired too and Kiley could hardly stand. We had walked to our frineds so Dh and I could both drink so we walked the 15 min home with DH carrying Kiley and Destiny crying because she didn't want to leave her bff. But we got home and the kids into bed and ourselves into bed by 3 am. When I woke up I had this killer headache, now I wasn't dizzy or anything by the time we went home, I had felt fine. But I couldn't sleep all night tossing and turning and could only figure that i slept on my pillow wrong. But i went grocery shopping and pet shopping too on the 5th with sunglasses on the whole time of course.

Now the pet shopping came up like this. It was the morning of the 5th and we were giving Cocoa his bunny vitamins. But Kiley threw a fit about destiny having any interaction with him as it was HER bunny. So daddy told Destiny he would buy her own bunny for her so we had to go shopping. we needed a bigger cage so we go to this new store where we were told has animal cages for cheap and they truly do but it was more of a hardware store so DH wanted to look at the lights and fans. ugh! So then we are driving down the street and I see the pet store I had gone too with one of my neighbors but didn't remember afterwards how to get there so we go in.They have treats and food and litter and fish out the wazoo! So we find an awesome deal on bunny litter too. We had found a cage at the first store along with a house for cocoa. So then we drive to a garden center that sells pets and she finds these little black and white spotted bunnies so cute! But then DH tells her on payday we would get her one. Okay so now after he shows her all this, he then tells her you a 6 year old must wait 10 days for your bunny and hope he is still there?? Ugh! I am ready to kill him by then especiallysince my migraine has worsened even with 4 excedrin gone through me by then and my daughter starts to cry and get upset becuase 10 days to her is an eternity. The woman in the pet store tells me that because we have a 6 or he could be 7 year old bunny at home it would be best to buy a female and fix the male. Um I don't think so as females stink when flo comes visiting and I refuse to go thru 8 to 12 years of that as it is so I explain toher that when i was a child my sisters and I owned rabbits i.e. 3 males all in one cage and they got along fine so there will be no fixing of bunnies. So she suggested that we start them out in 2 cages next to each other for 2 weeks and then let them out in the livingroom together to see how they react to each other which is fine to me since we will have 2 cages by then anyways. I plan to move cocoa to the bigger cage and put the baby in cocoas current cage hoping that he will adjust to cocoas scent easier and thus we can eventually put them in the same cage. I have to point out though that cocoa is extremely tame so I am not worried.

Now my DH when we arrived in germany said he wanted a BMW, he just HAD to have one. So we find a cute little blue one with next to no issues for 1400 Euro which at that time came out to about $2200 USD so not bad at all. Now here it is 2 years later and he knows we are going back to the states soon and there is a lot to do to the BMW to make it American specs so we can take it back. Basically we would have paid nearly $3000 to $4000 USD to make this happen and I'm sorry but my money tree just isn't producing this year. So DH spends a month hunting down and looking at American cars from soldiers PCSing and not wanting to pay to have their car taken back. Now the military will pay for car #1 but after that, you pay to ship all others back. So this week he lucked out. He found a 1998 Mitsubishi in Aqua 2 hours away from here. The guy wants $3500 USD and we are selling our BMW for $3000 USD so DH talks the guy down to the $3000 USD since he is leaving this week and needs to be rid of the car. All in all we now have sold the BMW and have the Mitsubishi which is now the envy of the neighborhood I am hearing. To me it is just a car but w/e. It has bucket seats in it too which DH loves. I just told him he best hope I never get pregnant while we have this car. I went through bucket seats when I was pregany with Destiny nearly 7 years ago and by the time I was 6 months along, I needed someone to come around to the passenger side and help pull me out.

Anyway i know I have talked your ears off and congrats to you if you have read this far. :0) I have one more FS exchange to stitch and then I am back to sticthing on things I can show you all. Thank you for being so patient thru all my drama here. I did read thru some blogs tonight and comment where I could so if I haven't commented on your blog yet, I will soon. I made it about halfway today so hopefully tomorrow I will be caught up.

I heard from Sandra that she has received my squares and she liked them! I'm so glad. :0) I really enjoyed stitching this.

I'm finishing up my Summer Round and have already picked out Round 8 squares which I think will stitch up quickly. I then want to try and do up another section from my EMS rose sampler which is only finished up till part 4 so yes I am behind on this. I'm sorry I haven't commented on blogs lately. If I get some time I will try tonight but life is still a bit hectic with this and that, I won't bore you with the details.

Fair and Square Round 7

I received my Fair and Square Round 7 squares from Sandra G. yesterday. Aren't they lovely? And look at the goodies she sent me. I had mailed hers out a little late due to me being in the klinikum with Destiny all day long. I hope she gets them soon. They are going all the way to Portugal.

I'm sorry I have had no additional stitching to show you as I am working on my Fair and Square summer round squares and then I will be doing up round 8 and after that I should have stitching to show you all again on a regular basis.

Non stitching News:

Destiny might get released tomorrow! yay! I want to say thank you to all those who commented on destiny. she is doing fine other than the Dr's have no clue as to why her sugar levels flucuate so much. They ran blood and urine test and found nothing and she has been fine and not acting sick.

Yesterday I had 2 teeth filled and my back right wisdom tooth was so loose the dentist just pulled it out so that saves me $242.00 USD out on the economy at the German dentist who I still have to go see to get the top right wisdom tooth pulled and then finally I will have no wisdom teeth. I will only need additional fillings but those can be done for free on post thankfully.

Day 7 SMO Happy Dance

Well it took me 2 weeks to complete the green on the left, right, and bottom. Thats how busy I was in the hospital. So last night I sat down and finished the green and did up all the pink hearts and then today was the all the words. So here is my first happy dance this month and probably my only, lol.

Destiny went into the hospital last Sunday before and is still there 2 weeks later. They said maybe on Sunday she can come home but before that they had said tomorrow so who knows? But I utterly hate being up at the hospital all day long everyday 24/7. My DH goes up on his day off which is only maybe half day each week. I am hoping she does come home cause I feel bad if I don't go up there but I am eager to come home once I am there.

I'm sorry I haven't blogged much lately. Last wek for 5 days I was in complete pain on my left side of my head. I went to the dentist Thursday and turns out my left bottom wisdom tooth had an infection. So the Dr tells me it MUST come out but they don't do extractions on post. So he prescribes me Erythromycin. Horrible stuff! Figures I would get the stomach pains reactions. It was bad! I felt like I was was satrving 24/7 and I am suppose to spend 7 days on this stuff?? No good! So Friday morning I called my offpost Dentist Dr. Giannoulopoulos and he said he could see me that day at 1400. yay! I have my DH reschedule his dental at the clinic for Monday so he can take me to mine. As you all know I don't drive offpost, the streets are terribly small and you can easily get lost. So we get there I fill out a few forms and he says they can take out both wisdom teeth on my left side! Yay! But with needle injections to numb, Yikes! I hate needles and then to say your going to put it in my mouth?? Anyway he was careful and the only one that hurt was the one in the roof of my mouth. I was all numbed up and 30 minutes later both teeth were out! Yay! And even when the numbness wore off I wasn't in any pain. He had to cut my lower gums and stitch them up but I am doing great now. And I was ordered to couch potato the entire weekend! Stitches come out Friday and then next week I am going in to have my wisdom teeth on my right side removed. I am so glad I found an awesome dentist because really I am terrified to go to the dentist. Oh since I got my teeth pulled I no longer have to be on antibiotics either, yay!

Anyway, today Destiny goes into the Klinikum to start the process of getting her insulin changed. Hopefully it goes well and I can leave the hospital during the daytime. DH works nights so I have to spend the nights there. Now I am a type of person if you wake me at night, I am up for several hours before falling back asleep and with a diabetic child in the hospital, they will be in every hour checking her sugar levels until her body has adjusted to the new insulin, see my problem now? If all goes good though we shouldn't be there more than 2 or 3 days. DH and I have to take classes to learn this new plan but it looks hopeful. I am taking a few stitching projects with me and an exchange I need to up too so i will be busy while I am there so I should have some pics for you when I return!

EMS Rose Sampler along with July 4th

I completed part 4 between yesterday and this morning. I'm so glad its done. Part 6 was released this month so I am still a part behind but thats ok, I think I am making this month my month for catching up on SAL's before i continue on my rotation.
I received my 4th of July squares from Donna today. Thank you Donna, their lovely! And look at the floss! I never knew that mix was out there. I know I live under a rock. And she also included the tin of altoids. The kids are already eyeing them.

Destiny goes into the hospital on the 15th to change over her insulin and not a moment too soon as I am having to give her extra rapid insulin since her 30/70 mixture is not working so well anymore. The nurse at the school is finding out the same thing too so she is checking her sugars more often to make sure they stay down.

And I have to show this pic of Kiley. She was holding Cocoa and said "mommy take my picture!" and she posed this way on her own. Can we say possible model? :)

Hey you never know I could learn something new. :) There is more stitching to add onto the bunny but she is going to give it to us with the instructions so expect to see this little guy again.

Hand dyed floss and flowers

Okay so today I received some beautiful hand dyed floss that I ordered off of ebay from the Victorian Motto Sampler Shoppe The 2 at the far left end are the freebies she sent me. Each skein has 20 yards on it! And she sends free floss with every order, I got 2 skeins because it was my first time ordering from her. I am not sure why the far left one looks orange, maybe because of the sunlight in my house but its a beautiful deep purple color. I am definitly going to order from her again. I ordered the four set of pinks/purples this time so maybe some reds? I think I am going to use some of these when I make up my Round 7 squares. :)

And these plants or this plant has taken nearly 2 years to finish growing and bloom so I felt I had to share though don't ask me what they are called because I don't remember. anyway I planted these as seeds last year in 2007 and they only grew about 6 inches before winter hit and they surprisingly survived the winter and now this year they have grown to about 1 foot and started blooming! This is the first one. I have hanging pots all around my balcony of different kinds of flowers including sunflowers which I hope will bloom this year.

Thank you everyone for your concerns about Destiny. she is doing good and stayed home from school today. She'll be back on Monday. We also bought her a pink water bottle to fill with water of course and carry with her at all times as the kids are starting to play outside more often and if our daughter dehydrates, well lets just say lots of problems there.

One of the scariest days

Yep you read correctly. Yesterday afternnon was filled with fear, Military police, EMs, Dr's and nurses. If you haven't already guessed, this has to do with Destiny. She came home yesterday and at 1500 we checked her sugar, all was good so she ate her 2 BE consisting of a buttered tortilla and 8 oz sugar free koolaid. And then fell asleep in her daddys chair in our livingroom. We were watching desperate housewives when at 1630 she started convulcing, drooling, and her eyes went into the back of her head, she had seized. This had never happened to her before so I was yelling at my husband to call an ambulance. An MP showed up first and I was pissed! What the hell was he going to do???? Well he did nothing but stand there and stare at us as I tried to keep Destiny concious. It took 8 minutes for the ambulance to arrive but it felt like 20 minutes. And then they were filling out paperwork!!! While my daughter sat in a chair and was crying!! I'm sure DH saw steam coming out of my head by then. I had 3 MP's and 3 EMS in my livingroom and they were all just standing there talking in German none the less. I finally went to one of them and said "help her!!" We had to show them her passport because apparently that somehow makes a difference. I'm sure once they saw American USA citizen their feet dragged even more. I had to carry her to the ambulance!! Can you believe that???? And then their idiot Dr who I had told that my daughter has very deep veins couldn't for the life of him find her veins to administer Glucose. Now they used their machine to check her sugar and it registered at 32!! Ok our new machine is defective but I'll tell you about that in a bit. Anyway this idiot Dr used every last needle in the ambulance on my daughter trying to find a vein, all the while my daughter is fighting and screaming (this is an effect of low sugar) They finally give her some through her nose and also give her something to calm her down which only hyped her up instead of relaxing her. They sat there working on her for 30 minutes before deciding to drive to the hospital and even thier the Dr didn't do much. They pulled blood and ran a test that took them till midnight to give us the results. By then Destinys sugars dropped back to 34 and she had thrown up about a 1/2 gallon of liquid. You want to know the test results? They showed nothing and this female Dr's response was she didn't know what was wrong with my daughter and then she went home!!! No Dr till 0700 this morning. Thankfully it was the male Dr who cared for her when she was first diagnosed. He found that not only was her monitor broken but her idiot Dr earnhardt had her insulin dosage way above where it should be and was having her eat too much food, thus a fat little child. Our insulin pen also broke so they replaced it for us and also gave us a new monitor. NOW ANYONE WITH A MONITOR, If you are using the one touch ultra, the comapny NO LONGER makes these, they are outdated so go replace them with the One Touch Ultra 2. No wonder the pharmacist told me he gets them for a penny, they don't work anymore. Oh and the female Dr said 2 other kids the previous week came in from faulty monitors, the EXACT same one we used and I looked at her like and you didn't think the word should be put out? Cause seizures can kill. Anyway to make this short she is now going on a new plan which we have to take her back to the hospital June 16th to learn about and how to care for her then. Also her 30/70 (NPH) is working against her now which they didn't think would happen for several more years. Destiny is back to herself now but no patient liason showed up either which they are required to do so I will be going into our clinic to find out why she never showed.

Thanks for listening to me rant, I had to get this out.

Day 8 SMO SAL

Okay after a day and half here is what I have completed on Mys Day 8 SAL. Why yes that is only half a bear, why is he only half done? Because he is boring to stitch, I just don't normally stitch bears and am now thinking I should have used half stitches, mine can be different right? I have until June 5th to finish this one as thats when June Day 7 starts. So maybe I can actually get him finished before the deadline. This one is just hard to find the motivation. And yes I have abanoned my rotation. My stitching mojo is depleted big time so I am stitching what I can to help keep it going as I feel awful when i haven't made one x in anything.
