Fair and Square Round 12 and goodies

So here is the onsie as of last night. I have one row of the green done. Its not so mint coloured though, its darker.
My Round 12 for Fair and square from Sonda M. arrived last night as well. Their perfect, I don't know if you can tell but there are so many beads on this square. Thank you Sonda! Sonda is a year behind as well, can you tell she stitched 2008? Its ok though.
And my package from Silkweaver also came in. I got three white 9 x 13 32 count Laguna fabrics for my Fair and Square exchanges and this mocha opalescent was there colour of the week and I couldn't help getting a cut of it. There were also some beads and treasures on sale as well so I grabbed a few. This is the first bit of stash I have gotten in awhile. So I was happy when it arrived. :)

DH has staff duty yet again today so I plan to complete my last 2 exchanges today for Fair and Sqaure. I think I may post pone signing up for the next few rounds so I can complete some stuff for my sisters baby before its born. But we will see how that goes as the Spring round has just opened up for sign ups and I am itching to join! Anyway i have a signature square to stitch up and get mailed out if the weather remains nice and I can also mail out a much belated birthday gift as well.

Happy Stitching!

GREAT NEWS!!!!!!!

I got DH to wash Batista this weekend and he just sat in the tub and allowed himself to get washed and then since DH knows I cannot be around wet animals as it closes up my lungs (found this out the hard way) so he used the blow dryer on Batista, I guess it felt good cause he laid down until finished. And I guess that was just too tiring too cause he went into his kennel and curled up into his bed and went to sleep. ^_^

And here is how far I got on Coffin Buzz Saturday when I called my older sister Lynnette in Wyoming and found out that she is 5 weeks pregnant with their first child!! She is a fellow stitcher as well just no blog yet but I keep telling her to get one (hint, hint sis) Anyway I am sooo excited!!!!! Her and her boyfriend Shawn have been trying for nearly a year so its awesome she is finally going to be a mommy! Shawn is already hinting at her about a second child, LMAO. She hinted at a Layette set for the baby so.....
Anyway I put away Coffin Buzz and pulled out my Hooked on Crochet magazines and found this cute onsie, so I pulled out my white with sparkles and my green soft yarn and got to work. I have about 5 more rows of white left and then its time to work on the body. So I am telling you all that there will probably lots of baby stuff on here for the majority of the year. Her theme is Precious Moments of course, ^_^ Wanna hear something ironic? About 2 weeks ago I ordered some Caron baby yarn 2 lbs worth! Hey, they were on sale! What's a gal to do? So I hope its a girl cause one of them is pink and I don't recall what the other color was but anyway I still have 8 months to do everything. I had told her years ago that I would cross stitch her a baby blanket too for when she had a child so yes now its time to get that done. I have one baby afghan with 35 blocks at about 4.5 in x 4.5 in so I could use that or I may order another one with bigger blocks.

Oh! They have already picked out first names too Poe _____ Jones for a boy and Kachana_______Jones for a girl. Shawn picked the first names and Lynnette gets to fill in the middle names. Any ideas? I already told her I am calling her son PJ if she has a boy as Poe is wierd to me but Its after Shawns favorite poet Edgar Allan Poe.

Happy Stitching!

Snowmen!

I had completely forgot that several months ago I had joined an ornament of the month club. Each month you get to make Christmas ornaments and try new crafts at the same time. Well yesterday these three little guys showed up in my mailbox. ^_^ They needed to be hand painted and then ornament glitter was added to the white areas after the paint was dry. So in about 3 or 4 hours these 3 little snowmen were ready! So now they will each get wrapped in bubble wrap and carefully placed into our ornament box till Christmas.

DH has Staff Duty today (24 hour shift) so I have plenty of stitching time after I get the house cleaned up, laundry done, and grocery shopping done. I am hoping to get a good amount stitched on Coffin buzz as I only finished one motif and about 3 letters last night after finishing the snowmen before I had to go to bed as DH was falling asleep next to me.

HAppy Stitching everyone and as always I appreciate your wonderful comments!

Totally Useless SAL and other "stuff"

Ok first a few days ago I joined this Totally Useless SAL, it doesn't add any work to what I already do so it makes it so easy to continue to do and sounds fun as I always throw my orts onto the floor to be vacuumed up later.... Well you all know since having a 11 week old puppy, he eats everything he can find so my orts can no longer go onto my floor so this ensures it. If you want to know more or even join in you can look here. I have a few scrap flosses, some papers off new flosses and yes thats a yellow crayon. It was going to be part of something but then I changed my mind so I just tossed it into here. I got tired of working on secret projects and having nothing to post or talk about and I was just plain bored! So I dug through my freebies and found this one by Plum Street Samplers. I really like the saying so yes I was compelled to do it. It's called Coffin Buzz and I am stitching it on silkweavers Peaceful Waters 32 ct Belfast Linen. You can find it here, just scroll down.

And I will leave you with a picture of Batista who continues to test my patience and make me laugh. He thinks he is a cat, he steals yarn and eats my geraniums! I found one the other morning all over my house, he murdered the poor thing, LOL. Ok so I was livid when I saw it so no picture as it would have been blurry, I was shaking mad. So now he is Kenneled at night and while we are out of the house. Today he was locked up all day as Kiley had school and then I had issues with getting Destiny's blood sugars above 56 and staying there and even now I am skeptical. Anyway to shows his distaste even though we took him outside to play and potty when I got home, he peed and pooped in my house. He normally is pretty good about going outside but he hates the evening cold and potty's when he gets mad at DH and I. OK anyway what made me laugh about this photo is I had threatened my girls with a spoon if they didn't clean there room up as it was trashed. Which of course worked as they cleaned up immediately. Anyway I put the spoon down and Batista took off with it like he was volunteering to supervise and deal out punishment if necessary, LMAO

Is it Christmas Already?

Ok I know its not, lol. I had ordered some (6 skeins) holiday Red Heart yarn called Holly & Ivy that was on sale as its after Christmas. And it came in yesterday along with my new crochet hooks! They are the new Soft Touch Crochet Hooks so of course I had to try them out and I love them! I got the entire set of 8 in this free case. So thats what i did last night. And my yarn is all in a bundle because at 4 am Batista decided he wanted out of his kennel and was so loud I sleepily opened the door and went back to bed. Well DH gets up an hour later and Batista has taken every shoe he can find and put it in his bed and stolen mommy's yarn too! The little booger, LOL. So now this skein will get rolled up into a ball.

I was working on some presents the last few days and so I can't show you of course until after they receive them, so I will leave you with a few pictures of Batista, Kiley and Bobby playing.

It's a boy!

How was everyone's Valentines day? Mine was great! We all piled into the car and went to see DH's Oma and Opa, and then went sledding, what fun! And then we went to Graf and did some shopping. DH bought some clothes and a new pair of shoes! Yes, I am that girl that needs a room for her clothes and shoes. :) I got him a stuffed animal puppy and a box of heart chocolates. No nothing stitched as he would give me that "wtf?" look. I was going to take a pic to show you all but Kiley ran off with him that evening and then was sick on it. She became ill till last night when she was finally able to keep food down. She is happy today though. So I think she ate some bad yogurt we had just bought at the store.

Ok so about a month ago we saw Husky mix puppies, they were just the cutest things ever! So i told DH I want a Husky puppy! He asked the lady if she would sell us one but she said no, she was keeping 5 dogs in her little apartment! Irritated and determined to get me one he looked in the papers for the entire month and then this Sunday he saw in the paper someone who finds the dog for you and so we enlisted her services. Monday at noon we got an email from her showing us pure breed husky puppies in our price range! The downside was it was a 2 1/2 hour drive to there and luckily the owners agreed to let us go there yesterday (Monday) as DH was off for the holiday. We got there with some help as there house was in a bad area and kind of hidden away from the road. Anyway after meeting momma and all three puppies. Kiley and I agreed on this little guy. We had originally wanted the black one but it was a female and I really wanted a male which the two brown ones were. Dad is all brown as well. They showed us pictures. He sat in my lap the entire ride home! He refused to sit in the back seat with Kiley. He slept in his bed the entire night and is also house trained and has all his shots. We are going to have him chipped as well and possibly fixed. Did I mention he loves the snow but hates the stairs? We have to go up and down stairs to get in and out of the apartment and he is a big boy already at 2 1/2 months old. Oh before I forget, DH decided on his name its Batista! If you or your spouse watches WWE then you know where this name came from. He sure is my favorite wrestler!

I have no stitching to show you. I am working on something but its going slow as I seem to be distracting by everything lately. I have a present to get done up and a fair and square Easter exchange to stitch up and a huge migraine to boot. Plus I have a house to clean and laundry to do before I can sit and stitch so wish me luck! LOL.

EDITED TO ADD:

Yes, Batista will be going back to the states with us. He is allowed where ever the Army sends us next! ^_^

Well here it is. My model is complete though I think my ribbon bows leave something to be desired.

OH! Something important as I have had many people ask me about the Winter round I did for the fair and square exchange. A fellow stitcher has helped me locate the website where you can get the pattern FREE, it's here Thank you so much LaJuanna!

Fair and Square Round 11

DH brought me home something to cheer up my day. It wasn't from him though. It was from
him though. It was my Round 11 Fair and square squares from Veronique D (no blog) in France! How exciting is that?? I love it! Thank you so much Veronique. :)

Also a few days ago I was searching Joann fabrics online and found 2 fabrics i absolutely fell in love with for my friendship quilt so I ordered a bunch, hopefully enough of it. These are the images from the website. Here they are:

The last few days, the idea of doing any kind of crafting has just made me dread it. So all my yarn, threads, fabrics, and patterns have been tucked away out of sight. I know absolutely horrible! I think its my depression hitting that has done this so my one thing that depresses me is my weight and I know I need to drop some serious weight so as a motivation to myself and possibly others, I have put a weight loss ticker up above so you all can see my weight loss. Yes you read correctly, I want to lose 86.6 lbs. My goal is to workout for one hour 5 days a week if not more. So everyone wish me luck! And if I don't post tomorrow you.

Fair and Square Winter Round

I heard from Sonda M. today that she has received my squares. I think that's the longest journey to the USA that my squares have taken. It took them 2 weeks to get to Oregon but I am thankful they are there safely and that Sonda likes them so much. These were so fun to stitch. This was a freebie but I have no idea where it was from because there is no website printed on the pattern so if anyone knows, can you please let me know?

Now the Easter round has begun so I need to stitch those up, but what to stitch? I am going to have to dig through all my patterns I think.

Happy Stitching!

MLOTS and Cat in Window

I finally got a scroll frame! Paid something like $45 from ebay for one that comes with three sizes of scroll bars and two sizes for the height part. Anyway I spent the entire weekend adding beads to every area I was forced to skip because I had a hoop. So now I am done for now with the beading. I am now back to stitching on her but am so happy I can now add the beads as I go without worry that they will be broken from a hoop plus I love this scroll frame! I am going to wait on the outline of her hand until I complete her face and her other hand so I can do it all at once.

Round 11 and Basketball

Here is Kiley holding her trophy and certificate for Instructional basketball. The season is over and she loved every moment of playing. The bottom picture is Destiny being a goofball while awaiting practice to end. The coach is hoping that they let her do a season of soccer so the girls have something to do this spring as all the spring sports are more for the boys. I hope they let her cause cheerleading for Destiny also ends next week and that means they are done with sports till the fall as nothing is offered during the summer for whatever reason. But they could both do soccer if they allow the basketball coach to do it. Destiny still has Brownie scouts till May though. And this Saturday and Sunday we have cookie sales at the shoppette!

Here is my Fair and Square Exchange Round 11 to Veronique D. (no Blog). I am so glad you liked them Veronique as they were a joy to stitch for you. :)
EDITED TO ADD: This was a from from here called Plant Kindness

As for my hat I was crocheting in the multicolored wool yarn, I ran out, its taking more than the pattern said it would. The pattern is a freebie and I am not sure if it was actually tested but oh well I will order more wool yarn today and finish it later. I did start on another hat out of a book I have and I know I have more than enough yarn. You'll see that probably sometime next week as I am itching to pull out MLOTS again. I do have errands to run today but DH has staff duty all day Sunday again so if anything I will get lots of stitching done that day. Today I have laundry to do and Destiny is home as there is no school for some weird reason today.

Happy Stitching!

Lots of pics!

Here is MLOTS as of Friday. I had put her away to work on a gift but then decided it would be better for my older DS to do it and give it as she is low on funds atm. So then I decided to pull out some yarn and crochet. Can you tell what it is or going to be? Its being done with Lion Wool Prints - Flower Garden. Its a freebie hat pattern. My winter hat from last year was lost somewhere and I have yet to buy a new one so I thought I would just crochet myself one. :)

Above is my girls, just doing some coloring and being cute :) and below is Bobby and Michael, they haven't been shown in awhile so I thought I would post a photo of them I took a week ago. Their cage was cleaned out later in the day and food refilled, I just had the camera in my hand that morning.

And look at the snow we got this weekend! It came down in fast huge chunks. The girls were thrilled as they wanted to make a snowman with daddy the next day. But later on it rained and it is all now melted. My Geraniums that I have indoors are starting to flower surprisingly. :) And Below is Kiley at her Instructional basketball practice. This Tuesday the 27th is her last practice before the season ends. The bottom pic is Destiny waiting to go home after the kids have their snack, she is watching the older kids play basketball.

MLOTS

Alright so I used my digital camera this morning to take a picture of this and then realized that my camera cord to connect it to the computer was buried in a cabinet with a ton of other cords thanks to DH so I just didn't want to dig through them this morning. So onto the scanner it went. As you can see its a bit too big to get it all on the scanner so this is just what fit. Anyway everything up top the straight line is what i have done over the past week or so. I was looking through my WIP pics of this and I had started this on Feb 8, 2008 can you believe its been nearly a year? I hadn't realized I had this that long.

Today I have to take Kiley to school for her 30 minute session and then wait another half hour for Destiny to be released. Then I am on my way to the post office to mail out my fair and square exchanges and then run to our PO box to see if anything came in and then rushing back towards the house and stopping and the JFK Gym for Kiley's basketball practice before I can come home and make dinner and get Destiny working on her homework.

This weekend we washed all the kids clothes and came to realize that Kiley has enough clothes that they fill up 2 large dressers and than most of her closet so we have started the process of going through them and seeing which ones can go to donation. We are hoping to get rid of about half of them. DH also has a new commander and he has decided to visit every families home to meet spouses and kids. Sounds nice right? Well its not at least to me. You see I never have to deal with commanders and to me it sounds like a house inspection more than a visit. Cause really he could have just had some kind of event at the JFK gym or pendleton field and met us there. So now DH has gone a cleaning spree throughout our house to be sure everything is spotless and I am expected to be home everyday all day until he arrives which we have no idea which day. DH has what they call nesting syndrome throughout the weekend which isn't bad and all but I think I am just more irritated that I have to be home the entire time. Oh well, guess I should be able to get in some good stitching time, right?

So how was everyone else's weekend?

Alright, this weekend I did get some stitching done. I completed my 2 signature squares for the first two exchanges of 2009. So yay! Sorry you will have to wait till they receive it before you can view what I stitched for them. Hopefully i can get to the post office on Tuesday to get them out. DH has gone to play poker with the boys tonight and the girls are tucked into their beds, not quite asleep yet so i may have to poke my head in and see if I can quiet them down a bit. Anyway I think I am going to put on a movie and stitch on MLOTS. I also want to get a scroll frame where the fabric fits inbetween two pieces of the scroll so you dont have to baste or velcro the fabric to it. Does anyone know a good one? I want one I can sit on the couch with.

Bite Me

Subversive Cross Stitch
Bite Me
Completed: January 15, 2009
32 count white Belfast Linen

So here is my first Completion from my new book and of the year that I can show you. Though this is finish number three. This was quick and fun, I may do another from this book though I have no idea what to finish them into so into the completed and not finished into anything pile it goes. I did complete my 2 exchanges except for the signature squares which I am not in the mood to stitch right now. But I still have plenty of time before the send out date.

Okay so I have had my first finish of the year and today should actually have my second finish too but I can't show them to you yet. They are both for my Fair and square exchanges. I have finished one main square and will finish my 2nd main square today. And then over the next few days I should be able to get my signature squares completed. I know they are not due out until Feb 23rd but I really became inspired to work on them and the first one just flew by plus it was nice to get a little break from MLOTS. I also got a new book in too that I completely forgot I had even ordered until I opened up the package, lol. Have that ever happened to you? Well here is the book I bought. I certainly laughed reading through all the sayings and even DH was laughing as I read them out loud. I ordered from Amazon which seems to be where I am ordering a lot of my stuff lately. Anyway as soon as these 2 exchanges are completed I am plan on stitching a few of these up. But I do have one thing ahead of all others. I found out a few days ago that the Elementary school nurses birthday is on Jan 25th She goes out of her way to care for Destiny and has even stopped onher way to the school to pick up Destiny for school so she is not walking in these freezing tempatures (DH takes the car to PT each morning and is not home in time to drive her himself). She has even taken both girls for a sleepover and buys them gifts on their birthdays and christmas. She has become their extended Grandma and so I want to do something special for her. She isn't married anymore and has no children so she is alone up here as what family she has lives in Chicago. So tonight I am going to find something I can stitch up for her and may even put my exchanges aside so I can make sure to complete my gift in time. I can show that one here cause I know she don't read my blog. :)

My Completed Projects from 2008

So all in all I completed:

1 Plastic Canvas
8 Crochet
27 Cross stitch.

Not too bad. :) I do plan to do the Fair and square exchanges again this year. Their are 14 total throughout the year and I have already signed up for three of them. I plan to work on them in between MLOTS and whatever else calls to me. Should keep me busy this year.

My Lady Of Snow

So here she is as of last night. I have finished across from her. I put a box on the section I just completed so you can kind of see the amount that is completed on her. I am working my way up before I go about finishing her dress below. So yes soon enough she will have a head and even the owl will be there though I am not sure how about putting the owl on cause her entire arm is beads and you all know I do those last so I may have to put some stitches in just so I can count correctly on her hand and owl placement and then remove the stitches afterward.

Destiny had her Optometry appointment today and the Dr dilated her eyes with three different drops so she is blind for the day. Well at least on the part of seeing up close. So I decided to keep her home today and she will return tomorrow. She even got those cool sunglasses, lol. He said her eyes are very healthy so yay! No glasses!

Anyone get any snow? We did! We got about 2 to 4 inches yesterday and another couple of inches overnight. They delayed school by 2 hours yesterday but everything is on time today.
